SoBeFit Magazine and Twitter

This afternoon, I started following SoBeFit Magazine on Twitter (@sobefitmagazine) and soon thereafter, they @ed me:

Hi @AgustinaP nice to meet you! Your bio says you’re into bikram yoga. Fun fact, one of our writers, Robyn, is actually a yoga instructor!

From there we had a quick conversation on yoga and how addicting is it.

What SoBeFit Magazine did was great and refreshing.

When I first saw that they @ed me, I thought they were saying “Hi! Thanks for following. Please check out our website.” I usually immediately unfollow tweeps who write those things to me, but @sobefitmagazine didn’t do that. They took the time to look at my bio and establish rapport based on a common interest.

@sobefitmagazine got my attention and my interest by simply saying (I’m paraphrasing), “Hi, one of our writers is very familiar with one of your favorite activities.”

They weren’t pushing themselves.

My applause and appreciation to @sobefitmagazine for being human. Thank you.
