Bariloche added to the itinerary

I finally boarded the plane that I thought I wouldn’t get on and it was an extremely bumpy ride. We left El Calafate and were on our way to Bariloche and then to Buenos Aires, but the only thing between El Calafate and Bariloche are mountains. Mountains make plane rides very, very bumpy and to some people, like my brother, very scary.

During the flight, my brother reaches for the air conditioner vent and says that the air coming out smells like a fire. We told him he was paranoid and to relax.

When we stopped in Bariloche to unload some passengers and reload others, we were told that plane was having “technical difficulties” and that we had to deplane.

After an hour of walking around the deserted airport (it was 10 p.m.), the pilot announced that the flight was canceled.

I saw the pilot walk by (he turned out to be the man I fought with at El Calafete because he told me I couldn’t get on the plane without my passport) and I asked him what had caused the “technical difficulty.” He said that somehow, oil had dripped on the air conditioning vent and that’s why we might have smelled fire coming out from the air vents.

My brother started screaming, “I told you! I told you!”

Haha, poor guy, now he really has a reason to be scared. We were assured that nothing would’ve happened if we continued to fly, but they wanted to be precautious.

Well, it looks like we’re staying a day in beautiful Bariloche! I love this city. Unfortunately, the slopes dont open until June 15 so we can’t fit in a day of skiing :(
